The eight-time-award-winning documentary TORN FROM THE FLAG has been invited to yet another film festival: Kinofest NYC. This event will mark the documentary's 18th festival screening. Kinofest NYC is a film festival that celebrates independent cinema from Ukraine and other post-Soviet countries.

Time: Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 7 pm.

Location: The Ukrainian Museum, 222 East 6th Street, New York, NY (between 2nd & 3rd Avenues).

Admission: $10; you may purchase your tickets here.

One of the stars of the film and a hero of the revolution, George Mismas, will be in attendance for a Q and A session after the movie.

TORN FROM THE FLAG will be in competition for the "Audience Award - Best Feature Film or Documentary." Make sure to tell the organizers that you are voting for TORN FROM THE FLAG!

Vuk, the little fox lives happily among his many siblings in their parents' home. As he is livelier and snappier than the others, one day he wanders into the forest alone. As soon as he arrives home, he discovers that his whole family has disappeared. Only later, he comes to know that the responsible are the feared humans, the hunters (called among animals the 'bare-skins').
